Business owner and father-of-three Alessandro spent most of his time behind his computer screen or negotiating deals in meetings.
Passionate about his successful footwear brand Hey Dude Shoes, the growth of his business took priority over everything else ā even his health.
Alessandro wasnāt moving much, nor was doing any exercise. Before long, he became unhappy with the way his body looked and recognised something needed to change.
Even with his jam-packed calendar, partnering with an Ultimate Performance trainer has left Alessandro thrilled with his results. Heās burned away fat and built razor-sharp abs by carrying out a 13-week training program.

Here, Alessandro explains how his trainer has given him lifelong education on nutrition, how he achieved his stunning results training in a park, and how U.P. have helped him live a happier life.

What motivated you to start training with U.P.?
I decided to sign up with U.P. in Hong Kong about three months ago. It was a New Yearās resolution for me; I wanted to get in shape and finally dedicate more time to myself. I have a lot of friends that have trained with U.P. and they were thrilled after seeing their results. I was told if you sign up, youāll see results. So that was the reason I chose U.P.

What did your lifestyle look like before you began working with your U.P. trainer?
My lifestyle before coming to U.P. was similar to many business people I know in Hong Kong. I spent many hours in front of my computer and in meetings, plus Iād dine out often. Especially being in Hong Kong, the food is delicious.
I didnāt do any exercise or move much, which caused me to gain a lot of weight and generally feel pretty unhappy about myself. I didnāt think my diet was terrible. I tried to avoid foods like cheese and white flours, but I didnāt control the portion sizes. That’s why my body didnāt look how I wanted it to.

How has your transformation benefitted you and how have your friends and family reacted to the changes in your body?
My family now see me as a much happier person. My transformation hasnāt been just physical, but also mental. Iām more motivated to dress better, Iām smiling more at home and Iām also more willing to help people. Iām just so much prouder of myself. I feel great every day and I live much happier. If I needed to use one word, Iād say results.
When my friends and family saw my pictures, they couldnāt believe the change in such a short period of time. I couldnāt believe it either. These were results Iād seen in the park because we were in lockdown at the time. I was amazed at how I could achieve such a good physique. U.P. really deliver what they promise.

What do you believe was the most valuable part of your transformation?
In these last three months, Iāve learned so much about food and how it is related to our well-being. Iāve also learned the importance of portion sizes which I never controlled in the past. Itās been life-changing for me because I know that now if I gain weight in the future, I know how to get back to this shape pretty quick. Iāll use the lessons on food and training for life.
