Thirty-six-year-old Che’Nelle had always somehow managed to keep her weight steady over the years.
A career on the stage demanded she looked the part, and with a combination of last-minute diets and some training, she contrived to get by.
However, when her mom sent her a gym picture of herself from Australia with her goals written on it, Che’Nelle was intrigued.
She had NEVER actually exercised with an eye on achieving a set goal!
She looked online for a gym that focused on results and found Ultimate Performance.
“I think the number one thing for me is I’ve never felt as strong. I may have looked like this before, but I’ve never felt this strong! I’m feeling muscles that I have never felt before, which is dope!”
It took a results-focused 11-week transformation at U.P. for Che’Nelle to finally get her dream body.
She lost 18lbs (8kg) and 10% body fat and 3 inches from her waist during this time.
Che’Nelle had trained on and off for years and had been to plenty of gyms and worked with several personal trainers as well, but the results were never on-point.

“I didn’t start this whole thing just because I got chubs, and I’m like ‘Oh my god, I need to hurry up and get into a gym!’

“Before I started here, I was training every single day, and what I’ve learned is that sometimes you overwork yourself, you don’t get to see yourself get stronger. So I wanted to just get clear on all of that stuff.”

“Earlier when I set out to lose weight, a lot of my fitness was guessing. I played a lot of guessing games – experimenting with different diets, trying this and that, and sometimes I would get to a place that I’d want to, and I don’t know how I got there!

Che’Nelle knew it would be tough but having an end goal to work towards gave her real focus and willpower to see it through.
Getting used to the diet and tracking her food intake was tough, but she found she could enjoy plenty of the foods she loves.
“There was a lot of adjustment; there was a lot of learning. I love my chocolate, and I love my peanut butter. I was like ‘How the hell do I add that in?’ and when my trainer was like ‘Yeah, just have it’, I couldn’t quite believe it. I love that because I don’t feel guilty, and I didn’t stress about it in my head.”
Che’Nelle got the education she always wanted. She really wanted to get her health and fitness sorted for the long run, and U.P.’s 11-week program was perfect to set down the right foundations.
“I want to get better at this stuff like health and fitness. I wasn’t raised in sport; I was never into all of that. However, my physique and how I feel is really important to me. So, the more that I get used to all of this stuff, the more self-aware I become. I want to live like that till 102!”
“I loved that it was healthy. I loved that everything was set out in a way where I don’t have to guess. Everything that I was putting in my mouth was purposeful.
“At the start, I felt like ‘Wow! This is a lot of food!’ because your protein intake is higher, and even though it was still lower calories, I did feel full after each meal.”
Along with getting an amazing body and an in-depth knowledge of nutrition to maintain her new figure, Che’Nelle achieved several unexpected milestones during her journey.
“In 11 weeks, I not only lost body fat, but I also got stronger! I never even considered chin-ups as a goal, but dang, 11 weeks later, I went from 0 to 4! The progress here is insane!
“I remember the first time I set out to try and see my abs; it was about 3 years ago or so. I was running every day and barely eating, and it took me about a year to see them.
“I not only got better results than I ever had before, but it only took 3 months this time without starving myself.”
