Rabia saw the best results of her life after this 29kg (64lbs) weight loss

"This whole experience has really helped me get my form right in the gym. I’ve lost a lot of weight."
Rabia’s 29kg (64lbs) weight loss has totally transformed her health and given her a new lifestyle she loves.
She’d always worked out alone and knew she needed to lose weight...not least for her health as she suffered from worrying seizures and chest pains.
Now Rabia’s in the best shape she’s ever been in thanks to the expertise, support and accountability of her trainer at Ultimate Performance.
Below, Rabia explains how U.P. has given her a framework to stay healthy for life and discusses how fitness has helped quell her severe chest pains.

What brought you to U.P. in the first place? What was your motivation?
Last year after I got back from my holiday, I decided to make a switch. I told myself I was going to just stay consistent. So, I found Ultimate Performance on Instagram and started training here.
I used to work out now and again, but I was eating out a lot. I was also drinking, so I decided to sacrifice a few things because I wanted some consistency.
I knew I was big, and I wanted to make an effort to drop some weight.
Ever since then, I haven’t had any chest pains, seizures, or jerks which I used to suffer from.

Tell us a little bit more about your health and the problems that used to affect you.
I had trouble breathing. I'd often get chest pains that would just come and squeeze me tight randomly.
I didn't think I was very big, I just looked at myself in the mirror one day and it hit me.
Once I’d lost a lot of weight and looked at my reflection, I realised just how far I’d come.
What did your routine look like before you started working with your trainer?
My routine last year was cardio, gym, then more cardio. It was a lot of cardio.
I would go on the Stair Master machine and always run around my block at night. I was in the gym quite often trying different exercises every day.

You’ve now got your own fitness account on Instagram. Do you think training with U.P. has helped give you the confidence to set that page up?
Working with my trainer has helped me a lot. I started adding heavier weights throughout my time here and my form got so much better.
I’ve quit a lot of things to get to this point. I quit alcohol two years ago and I stopped eating candy which really helped me get in shape.
In terms of progress in the gym, how much of a difference can you see in your performance?
Let's see. I like biking a lot. I loved the air bikes.
I hated the Stair Master! In the beginning, I would start with 30 seconds. Now I feel like I could do 20 minutes or even longer. I’ve built up to that.
I feel much lighter and fitter. It’s really helped me get my form right in the gym and I’ve lost a lot of weight.
And finally, would you recommend Ultimate Performance to others looking to get in shape?
Ultimate Performance is a great place. Training wise, I would definitely recommend it because I've been to other gyms and I’ve seen how other personal trainers work. It’s not the same.
You don’t see the same level of results anywhere else compared to here.
