Nicholas loses 23kg and two-thirds body fat in only 14 weeks!

Nicholas’ weight loss transformation at Ultimate Performance London City is truly incredible.

He weighed 113kg before he started, he was struggling with low confidence and self-esteem, and his size meant he didn’t feel respected.

Nicholas, who is a chief technology officer, had issues with sleep apnoea and regular gout attacks, and his weight and fitness levels held him back from his favourite pastime, gymnastics.

Constantly exhausted, mentally fatigued, and ready to make real and rapid changes to his body and health before his 50th birthday, he started a transformation at U.P. London City.

The results that Nicholas achieved in 14 short weeks are remarkable.

He lost 23kg, shed almost two-thirds of his body fat, and transformed his body to the point where his own mother didn’t even recognise him.

What were your motivations for starting a transformation journey with U.P.?

I was unhappy with my present weight, I didn’t feel respected as overweight, I had issues with sleep apnoea, I wanted to improve my gymnastics strength and wanted to see what was possible in terms of getting into the best shape possible before the age of 50.

How were you feeling both physically and mentally before starting with U.P.?

I was mentally exhausted and somewhat fatigued. I had a lack of enthusiasm for outdoor activities, a lack of confidence walking down the street or meeting new people, I was introverted, lacked self-esteem and had no interest in wanting to buy new clothes.

Did you feel out of shape before you started with U.P.?

Before joining U.P., I probably had a waist size of about 44 inches and a weight of almost 113kg. Walking up steps used to be exhausting, actually getting out of bed was painful.

So, there were lots of physical challenges that had prompted me to start this journey on my transformation.

What was your diet and lifestyle like before you started your transformation with U.P.?

Poor. Eating sugary or savoury foods at the wrong time of day and comfort eating, often stopping at corner shops on the way home.

How did your diet and lifestyle change when you started your transformation with U.P.?

With EatUP, I was ensuring the correct foods were consumed. I was also paying more attention to the macros, portions and timing of foods.

What effect did this have on your health, performance, lifestyle and energy inside and outside the gym?

I had fewer attacks of gout, better mental concentration, more confidence, and more enthusiasm to do outside activities.

I gained increased strength, greater confidence, more respect, and better health.

What was the training experience like at U.P.?

My training sessions at U.P. at the beginning were totally exhausting. They were nothing short of a body shock as you start to engage and learn about muscles you never knew you had and had probably never used before.

But with the PT designing programs around your capabilities and your goals, you start to discover that there are many things you can do as you build up strength and go through that journey. The process of the PT recording your results and seeing those differences is really important.

What were your results like after your transformation?

Miraculous. Nobody can believe the body I now have. Now I have arms which are almost 18 inches and that are firm not flabby.

I have shoulders that are sculpted and defined, a chest of muscle instead of droopy moobs.

At other gyms, people have approached me and asked whether I’ve just completed a bodybuilding competition or whether I am a model. Even though I would never consider that, it’s amazing that people think that I could be capable of doing that.

How are you feeling now compared to before your transformation?

With the strength training I’m doing at U.P., I now feel more energetic, more lively, and you get out of bed more easily in the morning.

I tend to walk up escalators and stairs all the time. I’m very body efficient now, whereas before I was a bit lazy.

The strength that it’s given me for gymnastics now, I’ve actually been able to get into a bridge for the first time because I now have much more shoulder strength.

My front flips are much better than they’ve ever been. I have much more stamina in my legs in order to now achieve certain moves on the gymnastics floor.

What were the most important things you learned during your journey and what really worked for you in helping you make your transformation?

Don’t expect too much too quickly, and don’t rush the exercises; allow your body time to adapt, take things slowly but do push yourself at each session to do a little bit better than last time.

Focus on form and technique rather than just quickly rushing through the reps. Focus as much on what you eat and how much you sleep as you do on things you do in the gym.

How has doing this transformation changed you and do you think it will benefit you going forward?

Besides the obvious physical benefits, greater confidence, and hopefully a longer life.

What would you say to someone who is in a similar situation that you were in when you first started?

If someone had similar reservations to me, and they were considering joining U.P. for a body transformation, I would just tell them to do it.

Don’t look back, enjoy the journey, look forward to the results, put the effort in and achieve the body that you’ve always dreamed to have.

Would you recommend U.P. and why?

If you want results and you’re prepared to put in the effort, then the extra money is worth it.

Combined with EatUP, it’s a one-stop shop for a total transformation like you wouldn’t believe. Yes, it costs more, but in life, you always get what you pay for.
