Jonathan wanted to prove to himself he could still be in great shape even with his new life as a father to twins.   

When he was younger, staying fit was easier – he didn’t have a career and parental responsibilities to balance.   

But with the birth of his twins and the challenges of the coronavirus lockdowns, his health and fitness fell by the wayside.   

Bad habits, poor eating and inactivity had crept in, and he wanted to stop the rot and get back to fitness.   

Having worked with Ultimate Performance some years back, he knew he would get results – he just didn’t realise how much fun his 11kg (24lbs) transformation journey would be.

“When I look at my before and after results, it feels a sense of accomplishment really and also a little bit of personal pride.

“I’ve managed to achieve it again, this time with kids. That’s been a real challenge.

“Since starting U.P., I’ve got a lot more energy. Working out does put a rocket up my bum in terms of everything.”

Becoming and parent and then facing the stress and enforced inactivity of lockdown, had taken its toll on his health.

It felt like a two-year sabbatical from any form of exercise.

But coming out the other side, he wanted to get back to his best. He knew Ultimate Performance was the place to get his fitness game back on track for good and put the difficulties of lockdown behind him.

“My motivation for joining was I got a little bit too fat and inflamed, and I wanted to lean down but also get a bit of muscle mass back because I took a couple of years off once the twins were born, and I needed to get some health back in my life.

“My training and nutrition before U.P. were awful. In the first lockdown, I ate absolute rubbish, and I was drinking a fair amount of alcohol. It’s a complete U-turn which massively cleaned up my diet.”

His trainer created a personalised blueprint for him that covered training, nutrition and lifestyle change.

Jonathan implemented it to the letter and followed the process, and quickly saw his body transform.

“I noticed results after the first four weeks. I dropped a fair amount of water and inflammation, so I tightened up quickly, which was a boost and then it took another 10 weeks to start seeing more of a six-pack.

“But within the first four weeks, I saw a bit of muscle memory coming in. I felt a lot better.”


Since Jonathan’s last time training with Ultimate Performance, the client experience has evolved to a whole new level.

Now everything is driven by data with the company’s unique BodyProphet progress metric tracking system has made the process even more consistent.

Jonathan’s training also became more targeted, and he focused on really building strength through the fat loss process.

“U.P. was different this time around for me because I think I focused a lot more on strength and bodybuilding to lean down rather than just trying to get as light as possible.

“I’m a lot stronger this time around, more muscular as well whilst being as lean, just being a bit more varied with diet and having more understanding of the nutrition side of it as well. That’s the main thing that changed for me.”

In the hands of professionals with a proven system, Jonathan could relax and enjoy the process.

He learned some new tricks along the way too with his nutrition.

“I’ve got different food for training days and non-training days, and I never really partitioned it as effectively before.

“Nutrition-wise, for me, I do tend to have on-off days. I will increase on off days, and on training days, I’ll drop.

“Following the overall curve and enjoying the process rather than getting too hung up every day on your weight and training-wise has been rewarding.

“I enjoyed it the entire time because just seeing numbers going up, tracking process even though it’s small increases every week, and just feeling more powerful over the lifts has been quite fun.”


Looking at his before and after pictures gave Jonathan a sense of achievement once again, strengthening his faith in Ultimate Performance’s training and results-focused program.

The compliments from his nearest and dearest have kept rolling in, including his wife, who was so impressed with the results, she enrolled herself onto her own program.

“My family members have been very supportive. My wife loves it; she comes to U.P. herself as well, so she’s been reaping the benefits.

“Most of my friends have been fascinated more than anything else, and you do get comments like, “Oh wow! You’ve lost a lot”. It’s nice to have that reward for consistency.”

His mind-blowing transformation not only changed his body physically, but improved his health too.

“The most life-changing things for me were the change of diet and cleaning up internal inflammation of my guts, which was poor before, and I didn’t realise it until I changed my diet.

“Four weeks down the line, everything calmed down a lot, and that’s been a big and very positive change for me.”

Consistency and hard work are the two missing ingredients Jonathan rediscovered that helped him succeed in his journey of physical transformation.

It has given him confidence and faith once again that he can be in great shape, be an active father and balance his work life too.

“I can achieve it again. I obviously came to U.P. before and had a pretty good transformation, got quite lean. But, internally, there’s always that question mark of whether I am destined to be fat afterwards and the answer is ‘no’ obviously!

“It’s just been nice to achieve this, particularly whilst having kids, which have changed my life.

“Being consistent and managing to do it around work and kids and family life is the biggest thing for me is.”
