Sherif’s enviable physique is proof that your best days are never behind you.
Out of shape and overwhelmed by old injuries, 43-year-old Sherif never thought he would be able to regain the fitness he once had.
But coming to Ultimate Performance Los Angeles empowered him to train safely and effectively around his injuries and get results he believed his limitations would not allow.
Despite years of injury frustration, Sherif still managed to lose 18 lbs and 7 inches off his waist, and cut his body fat down to just 7.6%, which most men half his age struggle to achieve.
Sherif still can’t believe the body he now has.

From the moment he walked through the doors at U.P. Los Angeles and met the team, Sherif felt he was in the right place.
As someone with a lot of lifting experience, he was convinced about U.P. from day one and started his transformation with complete trust in the U.P.’s processes.
“The equipment, the way the facility was set up, how the trainers are trained in a very specific manner where they know what they’re doing – that intrigued me and made me feel like this place could work for me.
“They have different types of machines and equipment as far as grips etc. are concerned, you don’t find these in a conventional gym, and it makes the workout feel more focused.
“Certain type of grips and hand positions helps you get the results that you would like – it lets you get really deep into certain muscles.”

For Sherif, working with a trainer who understood and accounted for his injuries was crucial.
His injuries were responsible for his current out-of-shape body, and while he wanted to get fit, he knew it would only work if the sessions worked around his problems.
“The injuries stopped me from doing certain types of exercises, so we worked to strengthen muscles around the injuries with a different type of techniques and exercises.
“Being aware of the injuries, listening to your body, and having my trainer understand the injuries and work around them were key factors in the training.

DON’T LET AN INJURY HOLD YOU BACK!
As a seasoned weight trainer, Sherif was used to training discipline but was still surprised by how much difference it made to have an expert guiding him through every session, helping him perfect every last rep and optimise every aspect of his lifestyle outside the gym.
“At the end of the day, you want to get results. You are investing a lot of your time, energy, and finances in it. And when you’re accountable to somebody else for your progress, it really helps to stay focused.
“It makes a difference if you know that somebody’s there watching your progress, your food intake, you are logging everything, and somebody else is looking at it. It’s important. It makes a difference.”

Sherif says his trainer would constantly adapt his training and nutrition to keep him progressing, improving and pushing harder and harder to deliver the absolute maximum results from his time at U.P.
“Throughout the workout, the routines change – your intake changes; it’s constant changes to help you achieve the goals that you want to achieve.
“So, one week something could work out great, another week something may not – so they work around tailoring that and it’s beneficial.
“The trainers here are very focused on what they do; I was impressed. They really care about what they’re doing; all the trainers there know who you are and they make you feel welcome. It’s a good feeling; it’s like a family!”

Now Sherif has his dream body, he just doesn’t want to stop.
Through his personal fitness journey, he has now become a source of motivation for his circle of friends and family.
People don’t just ask him how he achieved his transformation; they now actively use him as a sounding board for their own fitness attempts.
“I feel when they see my results, they are inspired, and it motivates them to go to the gym, eat clean and healthy.
“So without anybody really directly saying anything – besides the compliments – I have noticed that people reach out to me with their fitness activities and stories.
“It just inspires you to keep going!”
