Tired of being drained and exhausted, Ilkin came to U.P. three years ago and has never looked back.
Before coming to U.P., Ilkin felt constantly low on energy and was unhappy about his appearance.
“I was very tired and very unhappy. I could see my belly growing and my size increasing.”
He knew something needed to change and now his whole lifestyle has been transformed. The positive changes Ilkin has made to his training and nutrition have helped other areas of his life too. Before U.P., Ilkin felt like he had no structure or organisation in his life, but training has now taught him the importance of routine and self-discipline.
Here Ilkin shares the story of his journey after training with U.P. long term.
I was at a point in my life where I was pursuing and growing a career which demanded a strong mindset, personality, and a healthy physique. My body was stressed after years of uncontrolled nutrition, a lack of any proper training regime and weight gain from when I was a student.
Before starting with U.P., I was completely drained of energy, exhausted and unmotivated.
My pre-U.P. diet was heavily based on carbs and sugar and I never controlled my portion sizes.
My lifestyle completely changed. My diet is now based on healthy food options and I control my portion sizes by tracking my macros. This made me pay attention to my daily calorie intake.
I started to feel more energetic and motivated. I used to get tired very quickly even after a short walk in the park, and now I don’t. I would always feel bloated, inflamed and fatigued. Now I can recognise these signs and I have become more health conscious. All my blood and hormonal test results came back normal after my transformation program.
Increased confidence, not only in my appearance but also in every aspect of my life. I noticed how my transformation has motivated everyone around me. I have increased motivation for work, my stamina has improved and I am able to manage stress better in my everyday life.
I dropped my body weight to 77kg on photoshoot day from 108.5kg two or three years ago. My body fat dropped to 7% from a 33% starting point.
The most important things were time management, discipline and consistency. I learnt a lot on nutrition, started feeling the impact of protein, carbs and fat on my body. Staying disciplined and consistent really helped me to achieve my goals. Now I can understand my body and how different foods can impact it.
I have created a new version of myself with the help of my trainer, Matt. Matt looked at all aspects of my program including nutrition and training both inside and outside the gym. The process required discipline and planning, not just inside the gym, but for my whole new lifestyle. I think the main benefit for me has been my improved health.
I would strongly recommend U.P. to everyone who is serious about their health and lifestyle. It is the best investment I have made in my life. I always think if I did not complete my transformation at U.P., then I would spend the same amount of money on hospital bills in the future.
At U.P., the personal trainers are not just trainers, they are mentors, they’re part of your life. You wake up and have an email from your PT asking what your weight was this morning, how your nutrition was yesterday. It isn’t controlling — they are just trying to understand what your activity outside the gym has been like, how good your nutrition has been, and is there anything they need to modify on your program so you get results.
