31-year-old Pippa felt rock bottom and ashamed of her weight gain.
Her self-confidence was shattered which made even the thought of going out for social occasions uncomfortable.
Pippa remembers feeling so low she could barely face going to her own boyfriend’s 30th birthday celebrations.
She couldn’t go on living like this – so she entrusted Ultimate Performance to help her out of this rut.
U.P. helped Pippa understand fitness is not about a repetitive diet and spending hours in the gym as she’d seen on Instagram, but rather about lasting lifestyle changes.
Her 26kg transformation means she is confident wearing whatever clothes she pleases and is no longer nervous going to work – a weight off her shoulders both personally and professionally.

Here, Pippa speaks about how her program has helped to completely restore her confidence, and how she is now completely happy to leave the house with a smile on her face.
What was your motivation to join Ultimate Performance?
My motivation for joining U.P. was ultimately because I felt at my lowest ever point. I was incredibly unhappy with myself and how I felt. I found myself withdrawing from social situations quite a lot.
My boyfriend turned 30 a couple of months ago and he arranged a big weekend away with all of his friends. I was talking to him and trying to find ways to get myself out of not going to my own boyfriend’s birthday. It was horrible.
But that was the point really, that I realised I needed to do something because I wasn’t happy. I was hugely unconfident and hated the thought of being in any social situation. Just leaving the house was quite difficult so I had to make a change. In the end, that motivated me to look for someone who would help me make that change.
How did you feel about your appearance before your U.P. transformation?
Before I started U.P. I felt really embarrassed, which is really difficult to say because I’ve never felt like that about my body. I was always active when I was younger, always full of confidence.
But, as we came out of lockdown, I found myself really struggling to find clothes to wear. As I said, I was just completely embarrassed about my appearance.
I didn’t want to go out, I was nervous about going to work, I was nervous about anything social, even just walking down the street. I felt hugely uncomfortable in my own skin. So, I knew I needed to do something to change it.
What was your understanding of fitness before UP and has it changed?
My understanding of fitness before joining U.P. was based on what I saw on Instagram, which ultimately isn’t real.
I used to think that being fit involved training three times a day and eating chicken and vegetables. Now, my whole understanding of fitness is transformed completely.
Fitness is now a part of who I am, and it enables me to live my life exactly how I want to. Fitness is essential and it’s the enabler for how I now live.
How quickly did you notice results working with your trainer?
I started noticing results quite quickly. When I first came in for my consultation, I said I wanted to lose a stone and a half, which is about 10kg.
That happened in eight weeks, which if you would’ve told me that at the start, I would’ve laughed and said “no, you’re joking. That’ll never happen.”
So, I really noticed a difference almost immediately. Even the drives home became easier.
Following your transformation, what’s the biggest change you’ve noticed so far?
The biggest change that I’ve noticed so far is within myself more than myself physically. My confidence has gone through the roof. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this confident in my entire life – it’s completely transformed me. I will be forever thankful to my trainer for helping me through it.
My boyfriend’s mum actually said something to me the other day which resonated with me. She said I now feel more present than I ever did before. I feel like the me that she met years ago wasn’t fully engaged in situations.
I knew that I wasn’t present and that I was withdrawing quite a bit. So, to hear that from other people was upsetting. But to know that she can see me now out of my shell and being present again really meant the world.
Finally, how would you compare yourself from day one to now?
It’s difficult to compare how I was at the start of my transformation to how I am now. I look back at myself and feel quite upset that I was in the position that I was. It’s been so transformational and it’s difficult to really put into words quite how much it’s changed my life.
I feel like I’m the best version of myself that I’ve ever been and I’m really proud of myself for doing it, really proud. It’s been hard, but to know that I’ve got myself here with the unreal support of my trainer just fills me with absolute pride and I love myself for it. I don’t think I’ve ever said that about myself, ever.
