Barely 15 weeks before, Irina was out of shape, her diet was out of control and she wasn’t happy with her body.
Twenty-seven-year-old Irina was working long hours in her job as a senior investment analyst.
Her health suffered because of a lack of exercise and poor diet, and Irina decided it was time for a big change that meant prioritizing her wellbeing.
After 15 weeks of training at U.P., Irina is looking and feeling the best she has ever felt.
“I think my photos speak better than any words. I have definitely improved my life and health to the best they can be.
“I’m in the best shape that I have ever been in, more organized, active and stronger, both physically and mentally.
“And I’m sure it will benefit me in the future. I’m not planning to stop – only go forward and become better and better.”
Irina lost 8.8lbs, shed around a third of her body fat and shaped the figure she always wanted.
She explains how she made her impressive transformation and what really made the biggest difference to her body over the 15-week program.
What motivated me was a feeling that it was time for a change. I was spending long hours at work not paying enough attention to what, when and how I ate and exercised, which later affected my wellbeing.
I decided to take a more proactive approach and join a proper fitness program, instead of doing classes from time-to-time at a regular gym.
When I first joined the program, I was expecting training to be hard and focused on my nutrition – these were the two main reasons why I decided to join U.P. in the first place, and not any other gym.
And I have not been disappointed, U.P. has provided me with all the guidance that I was expecting.
I have never had major health-related issues, however, not caring enough about my body, physical exercise and proper nutrition resulted in me feeling weaker and generally unsatisfied with the person that I saw in the mirror every morning.
I have never had a weight or body shape issue, however I felt I was not fit. This affected both my physical and mental condition and as a result made me feel unhappy with myself.
Food-wise, it was basically always on the go, due to work. I ate what I could find and when I had time. It could be anything.
I never had any knowledge of what the nutrition and macronutrient breakdown was and what was right for me.
I never tracked or checked calories. I was always cautious about sugar and salt – but these are the basics and there is more to it, as I know now.
Fitness-wise, I always tried to go to the gym but normally it was just two times a week, or three maximum.
But my endurance was not great and therefore the impact was quite low, especially combined with random eating habits.
Now I know why I couldn’t see any results back then.
I have changed a lot on both fronts. I eat “clean” and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
I know when and what I should eat, and I can eat during the day and understand how it works around my workout routines.
I am more aware of all ‘dos and don’ts’, and generally what ratios of macros I need to follow in order to achieve both healthy wellbeing and the body shape that I am going for.
I now don’t consider it a diet – it is simply all about smart choices.
And of course, testing yourself once in while – it’s all about the balance and that’s what U.P. and my trainer taught me!
Only a positive one – I feel healthier, stronger, more focused, organised, and aware.
I sleep better and generally feel satisfied with the way I look and the person I’ve become. And I will continue following this track!
It was hard in the beginning and sometimes it was challenging to get myself to the gym. But once I passed the first couple of weeks, I started to really enjoy it and now I get upset if I don’t exercise hard enough or if I don’t hit my weights from the previous week!
Irina, enjoying life at her physical peak
It has become my lifestyle, not just an item to tick off my to-do list.
As it relates to work schedule, yes, in the beginning it was not easy because work always came first. But I have realised that my health and wellbeing are much more important and I need to find time for myself.
Exercising really helps me to relax and take my mind off my daily routines and that’s what I enjoy most.
I have significantly reduced my body fat, and I have become leaner and much stronger. I have achieved a more structured body shape and generally a better state of health. I cannot imagine not being active anymore, I want to keep going, maintain and further improve my current results!
Irina on holiday, enjoying her new body
I have learned how to build my workout routine and how to make the most of it when focusing on certain muscle groups.
Of course, there is still a way to go and my trainer Brendan always guides me through the process. But I definitely learned a lot and feel more confident when training on my own outside U.P.
I now know how to eat healthily and in the way that will benefit my physical shape, how macros work and what specifically works for me to achieve better results.
What helped me to achieve the transformation is my inner motivation to become a better version of myself and, of course, all the support and guidance of my trainer Brendan. He has put a lot of work, effort and care in order for me to be where I am right now. I’m very lucky to have him as my coach.
Definitely, and I have recommended it to a number of my friends and colleagues. It will help them not only to transform their bodies but their minds and lifestyles.
