Actress and singer Aylin’s confidence was rock bottom – she was gaining weight and feared she wouldn’t get cast in acting roles because of it.

Suffering from spiralling anxiety, 29-year-old Aylin would often have panic attacks and needed medication to control her condition.

It got to the point where she felt too embarrassed and down to even face her own friends. When she walked through the doors at Ultimate Performance she was the heaviest she had ever been – she just wanted help making weight loss a ‘habit’ for her own well-being.

Together with her trainer, she’d achieved transformational results that go way beyond just 22kg weight loss.

Now she has regained control of her anxiety and she’s off medication. But most life-changing of all, she has that priceless natural confidence in herself when stepping on stage or in front of the camera doing the job she loves.

Here Aylin talks about the life-changing support she received enabling her to take back control of her health, and how U.P. have inspired her to study for her own personal training certifications.

 

What were your main motivations to partner with Ultimate Performance?

It came to a point where I was just tired of being anxious, fat and unhealthy. I decided it was time to do something about it and it’s been the best decision I ever made. I was hoping to just feel better about my body in general. I thought maybe if I was forced to do something for three months, it would become a habit.

So, getting into a routine of losing weight and doing exercise was my main goal. I wanted to try to get back down to 134lbs , which is the thinnest I’ve ever been in my life. It isn’t anymore, but I just wanted to get to a place where I felt better in my body.

 

Tired of feeling anxious and unhealthy because of her weight, Aylin decided it was time to do something about it.

 

How did you feel both physically and mentally before working with U.P?

I have fluctuated in my weight my entire life and right before I started this program, I was the worst I’ve ever been.

I was anxiety-ridden to the point where I was on medication. I was a very anxious person, having panic attacks and not watching what I eat or taking care of my body at all.

I felt lousy, depressed and very anxious about myself meaning I was very uncomfortable in my own skin. I was embarrassed to be seen by my friends, which is horrible.

 

 

How does your new diet compare to the diet you had before you started working with U.P?

I didn’t really have a diet plan. I ate a lot of carbs and I didn’t have much protein at all, which is how I’ve eaten my entire life. I don’t think the pandemic helped with my anxiety either. I used to emotionally eat and that triggered some very unhealthy habits.

Now, my diet is very high in protein and much lower in carbs. I feel so much better about myself and my body feels a lot more energised and clean. After I eat, I never feel overly full or tired and I’ve just become much more confident as a person again.

I’ve been more social with my friends and going out a little bit more, even though my health is still my top priority. Overall, it is just nice feeling good again.

 

 

What effect did your transformation have on your overall health?

Everything about my life has changed. I’m studying to get my personal trainer certification right now which is crazy to say. My anxiety has improved and I don’t take medication anymore, which is a huge win for me. My whole life my anxiety has controlled me and my feelings.

When I started working with U.P. it was about me taking my control back, and now I totally have it. I don’t need to feel anxious anymore. It has just become a lifestyle, and I’ve become addicted to working out and living an active, healthy life.

 

 

Talk to us about how you felt before and after your body transformation?

Before I was very embarrassed. My friends had seen me a little bit overweight, but there was a point when I got heavily overweight. I would often lose weight and then gain it all back because I did it in a very unsustainable way.

It was a very low-calorie diet, around 1200 calories a day, but no real nutrition. I wasn’t paying attention to vegetables, protein or carbs. When I inevitably gained the weight back, I didn’t even want people to see me.

I never wanted my friends to see me and think, “she looked great, and now she looks like this.” So now I look the way I do, I don’t have to worry about that anymore and it feels really good.

 

 

How have your results affected what you wear on a day-to-day basis?

None of my clothes fit me right now, I’ve always been a medium or a large and now I’m a small. I’ve never been this small in my life, but I’m really excited to get to learn more about my style and things that look good on me.

It’s also exciting to be able to wear things that I’ve always wanted to wear but never did because I didn’t feel confident enough in my body. I can honestly say everything has changed, I’m tiny now and I have muscles that I’ve never had before.

 

 

How has this transformation changed you, and do think it will benefit you going forward?

Oh, for sure. I feel more myself than I think I’ve ever felt in my life, which is really nice. It’s nice to feel confident and not have to worry about what my body looks like. It’s helped so much just in auditioning for acting roles.

The first thought that used to pop into my head was, “you’re too big for this role, you’re never going to get cast because you’re too big.” That doesn’t even cross my mind anymore, I feel very comfortable and the confidence has made a huge difference for me.

 

 

 

How did you find working with your trainer, and would you recommend working with U.P. to others?

Without my trainer this would’ve been a much more difficult process. You can’t go wrong with this plan. You feel like you’re part of a team and working towards a goal together has meant everything to me. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone that wants to dedicate their time and make a change in their life.
