Pulkit’s had gained 25kg (55lbs) and his health was in freefall.
He would eat what he wanted and stay up to the early hours watching Netflix shows – lifestyle habits that were harming his general wellbeing.
When even strangers started noticing and commenting, he knew he needed fundamental change in his life.

“My weight went from 80.2kg (177lbs) to 62kg (137lbs). It was such a great feeling, it gave me a lot of confidence that I’m on the right track.

Before coming to U.P., Pulkit’s health was going downhill and the pounds were piling up.
He knew it was bad when strangers started noticing.
“I let my lifestyle go in all the wrong directions without a care in the world and I put on 25kg (55lbs) and people you’ve never met look at you and start telling you that they’re worried about your health, which eventually got to me.
“Coming out of lockdown I saw a lot of my friends started taking their health very seriously because they may have put on a lot of weight, so I took it as an opportunity to go outside and achieve something.”
Being patient and consistent with the plan opened his eyes to see the bigger picture and helped him surpass the goals he had set for himself during the beginning of this journey.
“Ultimate Performance was recommended by colleagues. Having never trained in a gym before, I needed the hand holding and I would never have the discipline if it wasn’t for a personal trainer motivating me, working on a schedule, pushing me every day, and monitoring everything I’m doing.
“At U.P. we would spend the hour at the gym on weight training and my time outside the gym doing 10,000 steps or maybe some home exercises.
“I now have an attitude towards training that applies to a lot of things in life. It was a great big break from being sedentary.”
Pulkit’s transformation wasn’t without its setbacks and challenges.
But nobody understands that life is never straightforward than U.P. who work with thousands of busy, time-poor professionals every year.
The support, guidance and partnership from his trainer pulled him through and kept him committed, even when he was out of action.
“Unfortunately, I got injured outside the gym while playing squash one day but, I decided that, “I’m gonna strictly continue adhering to the diet”, and that yielded results. I had another setback when I got COVID.
“Fortunately, my case was mild, so I continued adhering to the diet and again I saw results and gave me the confidence that I was still moving in the right direction.
“Once I returned to the gym, we quickly got back into the groove and we started seeing having sculpted arms, a ‘V’ back, and having that aspirational body was quite interesting for me.”
The biggest game-changer was learning about nutrition and how to continue eating his Indian diet but in a way that supports his health and body composition goals.
It not only helped Pulkit get in shape but has also benefitted his family too.
“The nutrition was a key factor which contributed to the weight loss.
“I wanted to live with my standard north Indian diet, so having the rough macro and calorie guidance from U.P. and tracking everything went a long way in helping everyone at home. We now have a better sense of what’s unhealthy and healthy.”
Pulkit is astonished by the results he has been able to achieve.
But friends and family are even more blown away to see the huge change in him.
“Everyone is shocked. No one believed in me.
“These days, behind the mask, whenever I meet someone at a coffee shop, they would miss me outright because they were expecting to see someone fat and now they’re like, ‘Oh! It’s you, no way!’
“Everyone is genuinely amazed including those who are not near and dear to me and that’s a great feeling.”
The whole experience not only transformed Pulkit physically and got rid of his sedentary lifestyle but also injected a positive attitude and that much-needed energy into his life.
His experience with U.P.’s holistic training program has made him realise that knowledge, dedication, and perseverance are the key ingredients to accomplish anything in life.
“One of the biggest objectives I had with joining U.P. was an adjustment to my daily schedule.
“I was stuck in a cycle of sleeping at 2:30 am and waking up at 10 am, jumping straight into work working all day, late into the night, and then watching some Netflix right before bed and repeat the cycle.
“My trainer, Rohan, was incredibly supportive and strict with me because I have a huge tendency to waver off. He was always on top of me ensuring that I’m on the right track and was reachable outside the gym hours as well, which held tremendous value.
“I surprised myself in how I executed this in my own time. I genuinely didn’t think I had it in me to stay on the right track.
“People have fitness goals and pursue different paths to achieving them and unless you have the true motivation and discipline, nothing can be achieved.”
