Once you have the motivation to change, nothing can stop you achieving the body you have always wanted.
Paul was ready to make that change – he had gone stale in the gym, he had put on weight and he was not seeing results no matter how hard he trained.
The 32-year-old decided enough was enough when he got back off his honeymoon and he decided to take on a 12-week online transformation at Ultimate Performance.
Paul was inspired to challenge himself to prove that anything is possible after his wife was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis before their wedding.
Twelve weeks of hard work and determination later and Paul has transformed his body, his fitness and his health.
Since deciding to start his online transformation, Paul has lost 4.5kg, packed on lean muscle and burned away layers of body fat to reveal an incredible set of abs worthy of a fitness magazine front cover.

Project manager Paul, who lives in Northampton, had been toying with the idea of taking on a transformation for a while.
It was his wife’s sudden illness that proved to be the catalyst for him to do something positive and inspirational.
“My wife was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2017, a few months before our wedding.
“Once we got back off our honeymoon, I wanted to challenge myself and show that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
“I was keen to take the opportunity to do this in honour of her, as others are not always in a fortunate position mentally and physically to do such a thing.
“I dedicated my post-transformation photos to my wife as she is my inspiration and why I am now due to run the London 2018 Marathon.”
Paul has come so far and achieved so much in just 12 short weeks.
He was never in bad shape before he started – he trained regularly and ate relatively healthy, but was frustrated at his lack of progress.
“In terms of training I had hit a wall so needed a new challenge and the UP challenge was the only one for me.
“I used to go to the gym four times a week, but didn’t have a proper routine so felt like I was wasting endless hours.
“I knew I could push myself to do more, I just needed the motivation.”
Diet was a big factor that was holding Paul back. He was eating relatively healthily, but had no understanding of the macros he needed or the right portion sizes, and ‘cheat meals’ regularly became ‘cheat days’.
“My diet was okay. I was eating the right type of foods from carbs, fats and protein, but not paying attention to portion control or knowing how to break these macros down.
“The main thing for me was getting a better understanding of what I was eating and how tracking food intake focused your mind to hit your daily macros.”
Once he was following his online training plan and working with his trainer on perfecting his diet and nutrition, his body quickly started training.
“Even though I was eating less than before, I felt stronger in the gym and had more energy throughout the day…even after a weights and HIIT session. It showed what eating the right foods do to health.”
The results he achieved training online in 12 weeks were phenomenal.
His incredible ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures are a testament to the hard work and dedication he put into maximizing his results over the programme.
“I’ve achieved the lowest body fat level I can remember, and veins I didn’t know existed.
“The great comments from my coach, friends and family was a great feeling of pride and satisfaction.
“I’ve achieved a great sense of personal pride by pushing myself beyond my comfort zone. Not only have I transformed way I look but the way I view food and the impact it has on health and body.

It has been an incredible learning experience for Paul. He has taken away the tools he needs to stay in shape for life now.
“I’ve always had a bit of an idea of nutrition but I can now say I fully understand the importance of controlling your diet and managing what goes in versus what you expend.
“I am now always conscious of what I am eating and the effect it will have on my health and energy levels. This can only be of huge benefit to me as I get older.
“I’ve learnt that with strict nutrition, a good training plan and a supportive PT who tells you how it is, anything is possible in 12 short weeks.”
Paul is already sizing up his next challenge – training and completing the 2018 London Marathon.
“I am straight onto the next life challenge and now. Once that is over, however, I’ll be back with UP to really put on some serious muscle!”
