Seb explains the key learnings he’s taken away from his experience at U.P. that will help him maintain results for life.


What were your motivations for starting a transformation journey with U.P.?

Basically, after working in the City for six years, I had found my lifestyle and fitness had gradually started to deteriorate. I used to go to the gym and exercise, but found it generally ineffective so realised I needed a change.


Can you tell me how you were feeling both physically and mentally before starting at U.P.?

I think as a result of poor diet (and probably drinking too much!) I felt generally lethargic and found myself tired and not able to properly concentrate at work.

Although I was not physically in bad shape, I knew I had room to improve with some changes and motivation.


What was your diet and lifestyle like before you started your transformation at U.P.?

I used to drink too much when out with friends and didn’t really consider nutrition or what I was putting into my body at all.

 


How did your diet and lifestyle change when you started your transformation with U.P.?

The biggest change, apart from the tough (but highly rewarding) training sessions, was definitely the change in diet – not only the macronutrients and total amount consumed over each week, but just simple things like making sensible choices when out eating with friends. The concept of averaging over a week was extremely helpful in letting me continue to enjoy a social lifestyle while still hitting consistent goals in fat loss and generally staying in shape.


What have been the biggest benefits of doing a transformation?

Even after the initial transformation, when I went for a period without much time for training and lots of travel for work, I found myself able to maintain decent shape and bodyweight simply by making more sensible choices with diet and, for instance, taking every opportunity to get some extra light exercise (e.g. steps) in during the day.

It’s a challenge but it’s satisfying because the results are so tangible.


What were your results like after your transformation?

I lost 10kg and over 10% body fat in eight weeks.

What were the most important things you learned during your journey and what really worked for you in helping you make your transformation?

Making sensible and sustainable changes to my diet while looking to add small increases in light exercise haven’t intruded on my work or lifestyle and have delivered material improvements in a short period in a way I couldn’t have imagined possible.


How has doing this transformation changed you and do you think it will benefit you going forward?

I would like to think that the feeling before and after the program has left me highly motivated to maintain the results achieved throughout.


Would you recommend U.P. and why?

Absolutely! Without the help, encouragement and knowledge of my trainer, I wouldn’t have had the motivation or ability to get to where I did. He is seriously knowledgeable and just as passionate about the transformation as I was, which really pushes you to achieve your best. I can’t thank him enough!
