July Client of the Month: Pramod

Pramod’s goal was to be in the best shape of his life ahead of turning 40, and he achieved it in 12 short weeks.

 

 
The day he turned 39, Pramod vowed to reach his next birthday looking and feeling his best.

The father-of-one and security consultant at Qantas wasn’t seeing big changes in his body composition despite training boxing and MMA six days a week.

It was a comment from a friend saying ‘do you even lift, bro?’ that got him thinking about mixing up his training and finally getting his ideal body.

Twelve weeks at Ultimate Performance Sydney was all it took to earn Pramod his dream physique and get him looking younger, fitter and leaner ready well before his big 40th birthday in 2019.

“Mentally, I feel very, very confident. I haven’t had a single person who has said I’m not looking younger and fitter.

“Physically, my energy levels are super high. I sleep much better. I feel stronger and I am stronger.”

Pramod lost 12kg and halved his body fat during his body transformation program at U.P. Sydney.

Here he talks about what made his transformation so successful to get him in the shape of his life in 12 weeks.


Why did you start this program?

I was turning 40 and I wanted the year I turned 40 to be the year that I was the fittest.

So one week out from my birthday that I turned 39, and I started looking around for some professional personal training and U.P. came out in the number one spot.

Being fit and healthy has always been the number one priority.

I’ve always played sport all my life, I’ve always trained.

Having a young one makes it a lot different because I need to be active running around after her. It was important to me.

What were your expectations going into the programme and what were your motivations?

I honestly did not know what to expect, I have done weight training for a number of years and I thought I knew it all.

I expected the trainers to make some minor changes to my schedule in terms of posture, tempo and suggest some changes to diet.

When I looked at the initial training videos, photos and did calculations on my calorie intake, I was amazed about how wrong I was!


How were you feeling physically and mentally before starting with U.P.?

I was okay, physically. Mentally, I used to get the endorphin hit after training but I was not making any gains in terms of muscle or fitness.

I worked out six days a week and did mixed martial arts and boxing.

Mentally, I thought I was doing alright. But somehow I knew I wasn’t getting the result that I was after for the effort I was putting in, which is why I wanted to shift things around a little bit.


What was your diet and lifestyle like before you started your transformation?

Unknown to me, I was consuming a large amount of calories through protein shakes and high-protein meals.

My lifestyle was okay, but as I had no motivation, I would have massive cheat meals throughout the weekend and drink heavily on either Friday or Saturday.


How did your diet and lifestyle change when you started your transformation?

It was a massive transformation. I make very conscious decisions on what I eat and drink now, I prep my meals in advance and this saves me time and money, and there are no unnecessary carbs from protein shakes or bars.

What effect did this have on your health, performance, lifestyle and energy inside and outside the gym?

I have a lot more energy and I am motivated to push harder at the gym and life in general. I am feeling confident and my overall performance has improved because of this.


How did you find the training and did it fit around your busy lifestyle?

The training was intense, I have discovered muscles in my body that I have never knew existed.

The trainers are busy, but are flexible and can work a range of hours as long as we give them sufficient notice.


What were your results like after your transformation?

I have not met a single person yet who has not commented positively on the change I have made.


What were the most important things you learned during your journey and what really worked for you in helping you make your transformation?

If you are serious about your fitness, seek professional advice.


How has doing this transformation changed you and do you think it will benefit you going forward?

It has changed me for the better. I feel more energetic and fantastic, and I will continue these sessions with U.P. to keep myself motivated and continue to learn.
