Joseph’s goal was simple – he wanted to reverse the creeping weight gain that had accelerated during the coronavirus pandemic.

The number on the scale had been creeping up for a while – but with lockdown, it spiralled out of control, and he felt helpless to turn the tide alone.

What was worse, he was only 36, but he was feeling the constant aches and pains in his body that come from poor health and diet.

Seeing the incredible transformations at Ultimate Performance, he knew this holistic approach was the answer to get back on track and ‘fix his life’.

But even he has been astonished by the level of results he achieved and the dramatic transformation in his body and his health.

Joseph completed his first 8 weeks with virtual training during lockdown. He completed his final 12 weeks with us in our Ultimate Performance gym.

“I dropped 40lbs (18kg) and got my chin back, which was a huge transformation. When I first got into it, I just wanted to lose 20lbs (9kg) which flew off way faster than I expected, but after I got into the process, I thought, ‘Let’s see how much more we can lose and how much further I can go and better I can get?’ and it’s blowing me away how far I’ve gone.

“The diet is huge even when I go out understanding what could be healthy and what are the high-risk foods that don’t lead to good decisions.

“Before I did this, I didn’t think I could lose 40lbs (18kg), but now I’ve done it’s not as difficult. The key is consistency and just trust the process and going with it.”

Life was different for Joseph before he completed his transformation with Ultimate Performance.

His diet was out of control, his health was poor, and he could feel the effects every day with a creaking body.

“I would get up in the morning, and I would be tired, sore and have back pain, knee pain, and ankle pain.

“I just felt like my body was always a distraction in the back of my mind whether it was at work or my personal life, I didn’t have control over, but it had a lot of impact on my life.

“We were going out to eat a lot and drink cocktails. We would go to the grocery store and pick things off the shelves that look good and eat whatever frozen foods and salty snacks.”

The coronavirus pandemic only compounded these problems.

The number on the scales was going up, and he felt helpless to tackle it on his own.

That’s when he found Ultimate Performance and was instantly drawn to the partnership approach and incredible client results that seemed within reach for him too.

“Covid had taken off, and I put on some pounds and did not look or feel the way that I wanted to feel and realized that I needed to make a change, but I didn’t have the tools to make that happen.

“I was looking for an opportunity, and I found Ultimate Performance. My original goals were just to lose about 10% of my body weight and see how good a shape I could get because I’d never been in really good shape before. I just wanted to understand what could happen and where I could go.”

Sceptical at first, Joseph started noticing changes.  From waking up early and feeling motivated to becoming physically and mentally stronger, everything clicked into place.

Training under the guidance of an expert taught him to push himself and give his all in the gym to get results.

Tracking progress metrics and having weekly check-ins helped him discover his inner discipline and helped him build lifelong habits.

“When I first started, I was not skilled in the kitchen, and a lot of the things I was making were flavourless and bland.

“It’s a struggle for that first month, but then you learned the skills, the recipes available through U.P., and I was able to find things that I liked and were healthy. It empowered me to make decisions about my life and my diet.”

The change was instant. He could feel the difference in himself. He slept better, had more energy, and his aching body felt brand new.

“I got better sleep and higher energy right off the bat.

“Before, I was waking up tired, getting poor sleep and feeling low all day. I also had ankle pain, knee pain, and back pain and thought it was genetic, but as my strength improved and my bodyweight went down, a lot of the aches and pains went away.

“It’s just been a great transformation.”

While the journey was not always easy, the whole experience at Ultimate Performance shaped Joseph’s life not only physically but also mentally.

Seeing what he is capable of has boosted his confidence and helped him discover the key ingredients to succeeding at anything in life—both personally and professionally.

“At the end of those sessions, I was getting my butt kicked, but it was a good wake-up call for me to realise not being in a gym with just two dumbbells, how tired I could get, and how much work I needed to do and make incredible progress.

“This is head and shoulders above anything else I’ve ever done by far. I got my stepmom in here, and she’s already a client, and I tell my friends that if they’re serious about wanting to get in shape and take control of their health, this is the place to do it.”

What this process has given him is the skills to continue the journey on his own. He knows how to train efficiently and effectively, and he has a blueprint for dietary success for the future.

“The most important thing for me has just been that it’s empowering. I can do this and pick out the foods and the exercises and do the work.

“I need to stay in the shape I want to be in, and before this, I’d always felt like it’s impossible, but with consistency and persistence and you can do it.

“I’ve never had results like this program and have never even seen a place that has consistently delivered results as good as this, so I would come back.”
