Gregg watched his father grow old and struggle with his weight and problems with his heart.
As a father himself, Gregg feared he was going down the same dangerous path to ill health.
He was stressed, he was eating terribly and he didn’t take any time to exercise or focus on his health. It felt like history was repeating itself.
It was only when his young daughter pointed out his growing belly, that Gregg decided enough was enough.

“I’ve lost over 30lbs (14kg) and over 12% body fat.
“I feel good and I have more energy. I like working out even though I get my butt kicked and it’s an amazing feeling to be healthy, to have my body not hurting as it was before.
“I look and feel completely different and everyone who looks at my comparison picture doesn’t even realize the first picture was me and I don’t either.”
When he first started, Gregg was impressed by the famous ‘results wall’ which celebrates the success of hundreds of body transformation clients at Ultimate Performance.
He never thought he might be up there alongside them one day – he just wanted a long-term fix for his poor health.
“I hoped to be what you see on the (results) wall, but my expectations were just to be in a healthier place.
“I didn’t actually expect to be a ‘wall person’ but just get my mind and my physical body back in a healthy place because I wasn’t there.
“My dad has been overweight growing up and that has led to him having some physical issues and I don’t want to look like him as I age.
“He ended up working hard in his older years to lose a lot of weight because he already had heart problems.”
Apart from his sedentary lifestyle, one of the biggest challenges Gregg faced was eating healthily.
Stress ruled his life and led to him bingeing on anything he laid his hands on.
“I was barely holding it together before starting. I am very busy, as most people are, and I was eating chips and ice cream while I was sitting at my desk, not moving and feeling physically disgusting and mentally out of control.”
At U.P., Gregg’s trainer created a holistic plan together to improve his diet, manage his stress levels and lay the foundations for better health.
It took all the stress and thinking out of it for Gregg, and meant he could just focus on following the plan laid out for him.
Now he is more intuitive with food and the way it makes him feel.
“Before, I was eating mindlessly to satisfy stress or emotion. Now the guidance that I got through U.P. and the program has allowed me to look at food not as a diet, but as a lifestyle of eating in a way that is good for me.
“Now I eat a lot of food – but very high quality and ‘clean’ food. The guidance that I got from my trainer, from day one, was a process that I needed to follow to redirect my body and mind to get on the right track.
“I gained an understanding of how much food I can eat and what portions look like for certain grams of protein, carbohydrates, and fat.
“Junk food in the moment makes me feel good and tastes good, but in life the other food makes me feel good consistently.”
Gregg was steady and consistent with his program. He lost 37lbs (17kg) and took his body fat down to a lean 8% – building up healthy new lifestyle habits along the way.
The impressive results have been turned heads among his family and friends – and even his daughter is amazed by what he achieved.
“My motivations in going through the program started with just my daughter pointing to my belly in the bathroom one day and said ‘Daddy, you have a fat belly.’ She poked and it was a bad example for her.
“Coming here we set those goals to become physically healthy, mentally healthy and I see we’re there and there’s no end to that.
“My daughter recognized the change when I had my shirt off in the bathroom and she pointed to my abs and said ‘Look at that!’ and I said, ‘Holy cow!’”
