Time-starved Fiona got the best body of her life with just 3 hours a week at Ultimate Performance.
When high-powered lawyer Fiona had trouble putting on her shoes, she knew something had to change.
She had been toying with the idea of starting a new fitness regime for some time, but kept putting it off ā with a stressful job, two children and two cats, she couldnāt imagine how to squeeze in a workout into her schedule.
But when her husband signed up for a programme at Ultimate Performance London, she decided it was now or never.
āIāve lost at least 12 or 13 kilos, and Iāve gone down two dress sizes. I have got tone on my arms!ā
āIn the summer, I was actually wearing vests tops again, and I felt and looked good.ā
Fionaās transformation was incredible, but it almost never happened. She was on the fence about joining what she believed would be a demanding training programme.
It was only her husbandās experience that finally got her to commit to starting her own life-changing journey alongside him.
āMy husband decided to join U.P., and four weeks later I decided to come and see someone at U.P. I think him starting just made me realise that heās doing something about his body; heās going to end up with a better body than me, and I thought āwell I canāt let that happen!ā So, I think that was the thing that pushed me into going to U.P.ā
While her husband gave her the final push to start, Fiona had her own clear goals she wanted to achieve.
āI think that my own reasons were more about my own health and wanting to take control of my body.
āI had turned 45, and I was thinking āIāve got this bad back, Iām unfit. If I donāt do something now, what am I going to be like in 5 or 10 years?āā
āI was actually beginning to worry about going into my 50s, or my 60s.ā
Fiona started off with real reluctance. She was very unsure about how she would manage to fit it into her schedule and whether she would be cut out for the training at U.P.
But her trainer helped her settle into the groove and soon she felt confident and competent training in the gym.
āMy biggest obstacle was me! I was anxious, I was negative, and I think I was probably quite a difficult client to have to start off with.
āMy trainer, Louis, is so upbeat, he really helped me through the tough phase and actually made it very clear right from the start that this isnāt just about a 12-week programme, itās about changing my whole life.ā
From being a Toblerone-eating couch potato to becoming the proud owner of a super-fit body, Fionaās journey over 27 weeks has been a whirlwind.

While she expected to lose weight and become fitter, the training and diet had many other benefits that took her by surprise.
āI can now run for a train and not feel exhausted; I feel light and nimble. My back is now 90% there. I donāt wake up in the mornings with a stiff back anymore.
āBefore doing this programme, once a month, I would come out in spots, and I was noticing my moods were changing quite a lot. But since doing this programme, thatās all gone.
āI donāt have these kinds of ups and downs in my moods; my skin has stopped breaking out in spots – so thatās a huge change I didnāt expect.ā
Training has actually been a huge outlet for stress for Fiona, which is something she says she badly needed.
āIn terms of my mental well-being, often I turn up at the gym, and Iām stressed from work, Iāve got a massive workload and Iām thinking āI shouldnāt be here, I should be at work.ā
āBut I come to the gym, and everything feels clear. The stress just goes.ā
The U.P. transformation is not easy; it requires commitment and willpower.
Despite her shaky start, Fiona really put in her all and three months later she canāt imagine life without training and U.P.

āIf I hadnāt come here, I would still be on the sofa eating my Toblerone in the evening, and I would still be thinking what am I going to do to sort my back, to stop the weight gain.
āAnd chances are in five or 10 yearsā time; I would be bigger; my back would be worse.
āI could barely see my way through doing 6 weeks of this, but now Iām thinking I donāt want to stop doing it.
āI want to carry on and want to keep doing it so that in 5-10 years, Iām still healthy, Iām still fit, and Iām still looking good.
āWhen my husband first told me about U.P., I had said āNo, thatās mad! We havenāt got the time; itās too big a commitment; itās too expensive!ā
āBut now I would absolutely encourage everybody to do it because it completely transforms your life.
āSo, I would say – go for it; save up your money and do it.ā
