Hong Kong is all about work, if you’re living here and working in the financial sector you’ve have already accepted that. Your life revolves around deadlines, sales targets, late nights at work, client dinners and lots of travel. If you’re not taking care of your health you’re at risk of a slow but sure downward spiral. The indulgent meals, excessive alcohol and lack of sleep WILL catch up with you eventually.
Terence is a banker who works extremely long hours.
Terence was aware that his hectic schedule would not allow him the time to prepare his food on a daily basis. Anticipating that, his trainer recommended that he prepare an entire week worth of food on Sunday while he had the time. In order to keep the food fresh, he froze his meals and day-by-day defrosted his food for the following day. By planning ahead he was able to stay on top of his diet, despite the fact that his work weeks allotted him little to no time for food preparation. Terence lost 10KG and 8% body fat in 12 weeks.
What first made me decide to embark on this journey was quite simple – I was happy, about how I looked and more importantly how I felt. At first it was a simple desire to, hopefully, get back into shape of how I remembered I was before I made it into a lifestyle to consistently indulge on the unhealthiest foods and alcohol.
However, the experience soon turned into a lot more. With my personal trainer, Frank’s guidance, I made progress so quickly I couldn’t believe my own eyes. It was tough, but as my friends and family started making changes to their lives as well after witnessing my progress halfway, it became a lot easier. I felt I was making an impact on those around me as well as myself, and this made me so happy.
I made it a mission for myself to see how far I could push myself and it all naturally came together. It’s almost like I had rediscovered those little things that mattered to me such as cooking and being active in general, but even better.
I am glad I went through with this and I can’t imagine living my life any other way.
