Darren laid his injury demons to rest and gained a fabulous body in 23 weeks
After a horrific shoulder injury at his old gym and an adrenal crash that followed, 43-year-old Darren was at a low point.
He had lost all hope of ever being able to get back his old fitness routine.
He was too scared to start training but had to do something – his sedentary lifestyle as a dental practice owner and the daily commute kept adding kilos to his body.

“I am a numbers person and couldn’t believe I had dropped from 31.5% to 13% body fat and lost 15.3kg in 23 weeks.

A few months earlier, Darren had pretty much given up trying to get fit again.
He had spent money and effort training with personal trainers but had lost all faith in the system when all he got for it was an injury.
“I have had a few personal trainers from well-known gyms chains. These personal trainers would often give me high volume, complex programmes with HIIT training that led to overtraining and injuries.
“They had limited knowledge of diet and nutrition and limited knowledge of precise technique on how to correctly perform the exercises and how to rectify injuries sustained in the gym following overtraining. I had really lost faith in all personal trainers.”
Darren entered U.P. in a very anxious and skeptical frame of mind. He had signed up but wasn’t able to commit himself completely. He wasn’t sure if he had recovered enough to cope with the commute, training, and dieting. But it just took a couple of weeks to put all his doubts to rest.
