As a busy mom, Allison wanted to change her body and feel stronger.
She had been exercising for nearly 13 years since the birth of her first child – but she never achieved the results she wanted.
Doing spin and barre classes were fun, but exercise had begun to feel like just a hobby for stay-at-home mom Allison.
Now aged 41, she wanted to strive for big changes in her life and accomplish so much more than she had.
At the back of her mind she knew she wanted to try training with weights, but didn’t really know where to start.
Then she discovered Ultimate Performance Los Angeles, and her whole life began to change.
What Allison was able to achieve in 13 weeks eclipsed everything she had done over the past 13 years.
After just 6 weeks she had developed abs, and by the end of her program she had sculpted a stunning toned figure and learned how to train with passion and purpose to achieve her goals.
“This has totally affected my whole life. I feel like I’ve become a lot more confident.
“I feel like I set a goal and achieved it, which helps build your confidence.
“I’ve always been a happy person, but I feel a lot happier. My kids notice it, my husband notices it, so that’s huge.
“I am really happy in my body. I just feel really good.”
Before coming to U.P. Los Angeles, Allison had spent years and years trying different workouts, trainers and nutritionists to get where she wanted.
But nothing ever fit Allison’s needs.
“Prior to coming to U.P., I was a member of another gym for about 13 years. This is a completely different experience and I wish that I had found U.P. much sooner.
“U.P. is the place for people who want to make real, positive change to their bodies and their lifestyles. I feel so much stronger and more confident in my own skin. I could not ask for anything more!”
One thing Allison always found tough was maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
As a stay-at-home mother-of-two, she had a lot to juggle.
Knowing the right diet for her was one thing, but sticking to it consistently enough to see results on top of her busy life was another.
Her U.P. trainer helped her simplify everything.
He created a bespoke diet that worked around her busy schedule and preferences, and it slotted easily into her life.
Allison says a huge factor in her success was the accountability that her trainer gave her.
It helped her take control of her diet and made it easier to assimilate healthy new habits into her lifestyle.
Having a food tracker, regular body fat measurements and regular progress photos really helped.
“I was hesitant at first because I was nervous about weight lifting and sticking to a healthier eating lifestyle. It has been amazing!
“I get my measurements and progress photos taken each week. I saw results right away, and by six weeks, I had abs!
“I no longer drink coffee (a personal choice) but I have more energy and get up earlier than I ever did before.
“I have fun keeping up with my tracker and receiving feedback from my trainer, Chris.
“I love having his accountability for my food choices as well as how much he pushes me in the gym.
“I would not have been able to get these results on my own.”
Allison had worked with a nutritionist in the past before she turned 40.
She felt that she had been eating too much food.
“I was sick of it. I just didn’t enjoy it. But the way this plan works at U.P., it feels like a normal amount of food. It’s easy to follow and it’s pretty specific.
Allison says the simple changes she has made to her diet and lifestyle have had a positive influence on her children.
“Just having healthy foods around the house that I didn’t have before.
“Now they see me being so much healthier and careful with what I put into my body, they seem to be running with it too.
“They are asking to put stuff in their lunchbox like almonds. It’s really cool!
“Even bringing home a book of the body transformations, they are obsessed with looking at it; they think it’s so much fun!”
Life is often hectic for any busy mom, and Allison is the same.
But since doing her transformation training, she feels like it has helped bring more order and structure to her life.
“I did feel like my life was chaotic before I came to U.P. It’s definitely changed for the better!
“I’m in the gym the same days every week – Monday, Wednesday, Friday. I can’t explain it, but it has just helped my life be less chaotic.
“I feel like I’m on a plan, I feel like I have a purpose and a path, and it’s just made everything feel much easier.”
Allison says she feels more prepared and knows how to plan her diet.
She knows exactly what she needs to buy for meals, and when the family goes out for dinner, she knows exactly what to order to stay in shape.
“I can make better choices. We eat out often as a family, with my kids’ sports there’s always a team outing.
“I’d always be like ‘sure, I’ll have pizza.’ That’s fine, but if you’re going out often, maybe you need to get the salad with the chicken.
“I feel like I’m a little more in control. I can say ‘oh no, I’m not going to eat that. I’m much more deliberate about what I eat.”
Her tastes have changed. She’s happy to forgo cakes at bar mitzvahs and parties, and her new favourite thing is burgers in a salad ‘bun’.
Even her sweet tooth has subsided.

“I do still crave sweets every once in a while. But it’s not a daily thing anymore.
“The fact that I don’t indulge in them all the time has given me a lot of confidence in myself.
“I know I can be around it and not have it. It’s not even crazy willpower.
“I know it’s not going to make me feel good, so I can make better choices.”
Doing her transformation has revolutionised how she sees training.
Now Allison is goal-focused and motivated to achieve even more.
“I feel like I’ve gained confidence. More so than when I worked out before.
“Literally it felt like a hobby working out in the past.
“Now it feels like I’m actually accomplishing something.
“I love that I’m working with weights that I would have looked at before and thought ‘that’s not for me!’
“I was completely out of my comfort zone and now I come here and think ‘this is so much fun!’
Allison says the training is challenging. But the feeling of achievement and the tangible results are worth every drop of sweat and ounce of effort.
“The program isn’t easy, but it works. I feel so accomplished and proud of myself after each session.
“Just knowing I did it even though it’s hard. I can do it and I did do it.
“It’s not just going to the gym and lifting weights. There’s something about it that feels like a transformation. I just really feel like I’ve changed.”

- We show you those who inspire even us with their commitment to their results.
- You cannot get results exactly like these. You are unique and that means you can only get your own best possible results.
- Your results are a function of time spent following the plan; your genetic response to the right exercise and diet program; how hard you train; how consistently you come to the gym; how disciplined you are with your diet; & your starting point.
- Oftentimes the lower your starting point (poor fitness, terrible body composition) the better your results.
- We cannot do the work for you and the results you see here are a testament to the work ethic of our clients.
- Our reputation is that we are the best trainers in the world for helping you to unlock your potential, & we can lead you to the door, give you the key, even turn the handle and push the door open, but we cannot walk through it for you. In the end the result is down to you.
