Stanyo always wanted to be in great shape, but with his demanding career in aviation, he never felt like he had the time.

Living the hectic lifestyle of a pilot meant he was constantly travelling, staying in hotels and eating and drinking the things that didn’t support good health.

He had lost some weight on his own – but that was over a decade ago, and since then he had stubborn belly fat that just wouldn’t budge.

“I’m a lot more confident when I look at the photos and when I’m looking into the mirror I’m like, ‘Wow! Is that my body?’ I have to mentally get used to the fact that it’s like a picture-perfect body.”   

Stanyo says he was always a chubby kid growing up. Although he managed to lose 11kg (24lbs) on his own, his busy work schedule as a pilot living out of hotels and eating in restaurants meant there was little room in his life to foster good health and fitness.   

As the result, his stubborn belly fat remained, and his confidence took a hit.   

That was until he decided to give U.P. a shot which transformed his life for the better.  

“I was always a little bit of a fatty when I was a kid, and 11 years ago, I lost 11kg (24lbs) but I still had some belly fat around my waist and I wanted to finally get rid of that. I was triggered by the before and after pictures of U.P. so that’s why I decided to sign up and give it a go.”  

As an aviation pilot, Stanyo’s job is extremely energy-consuming.   

He knew he wanted to transform his health and fitness but somehow his erratic schedule and frustration with seeing no improvements at other gyms held him back.   

“Working in aviation means a lot of dinners in hotels and restaurants where you’re not able to have complete control of your diet and also when you’re travelling abroad there’s a lot of fatty foods and wine. I never gained my 11kg (24lbs) back which I lost before, but still the belly fat remained and I wanted to get rid of that.  

“I worked out in the gym like one or two times a week and I did CrossFit, but I didn’t gain anymore improvement on my body and I was stuck.”  

When he discovered U.P.’s personalised and data-driven approach to body transformation, he knew this was exactly what he needed.   

His biggest obstacle was always the pilots’ lifestyle of long-haul travel, hotel stays and poor food choices.

Stanyo quickly realised U.P. was not like other gyms.   

Everything was managed and set up to ensure he was able to just focus on maximising his training in the gym and getting the results he wanted.   

“There is a warm atmosphere and everybody’s focused and I feel very safe as well.   

“I had some issues with my traps and my trainer was very much focused on seeing if we could ease that discomfort and tweaking workouts and do different exercises to adjust to your body issues which most people can have. So I found the atmosphere very personal and professional.”  

Over the course of his program at U.P., Stanyo lost a further 11kg (24lbs), cut his body half down by half, and built the kind of muscular physique you see in magazines.  

Needless to say, Stanyo was blown away by the results he was able to achieve alongside his trainer.   

“The most life-changing thing is looking at my body and being unable to believe that it’s my body now. When I started in the first stages of the program it gave me confidence because every few weeks I saw my body transforming along the way.  

“I got a great deal of self-esteem. I feel a lot fitter; I have a lot more knowledge about diet and choosing foods. That’s a great impact in my personal life and also in my professional life – I am inspiring a lot of my colleagues.

Now fitter, stronger and happier, the only thing Stanyo regrets is not investing in his health with U.P. much earlier.

“I learned some lessons, like carbs are not bad for you, also when I go to a hotel gym now I know how to exercise properly and minimise injuries. I’ve learned a lesson for life which I will use in the future.”
