“I look at myself in the mirror every morning and I’m shocked that I have this body now. I noticed change and progress almost every day.”
Daniel’s failing health hit him hard as he turned 45.
It was around this age that his mother sadly passed away when he was younger.
Now a proud parent to a young daughter himself, he needed no more motivation to take a serious look at his own health and make some changes.
Fired up and desperate to get to work, he decided the best results would come with the backing of an Ultimate Performance personal trainer.
Just 14 weeks later, Daniel has complete peace of mind that his health is the best it’s been in years. He’s also shaped a six-pack any man in their 40s would be proud of.
Incredible for someone who had never stepped foot in a gym once before.

What drove you to partner with Ultimate Performance and how would you describe yourself before your transformation?
I was losing energy. I was unmotivated and dissatisfied. I was dissatisfied with the trajectory of my health. Part of the reason was my physical appearance, but also the changes that were occurring in my body and knowing that it was not the direction I wanted to take.
A big part of my motivation was the fact that I was turning 45 in a few months in April. I was seeing other family members who had become less active with declining health.
At the same time, I also recognised that I had a parent – my mother – who passed away in her early 40s. As a parent myself, thinking that through has really lit a fire in me to make a change now for the future. That’s what really brought me through the door.
What was your goal when you started at U.P.?
My main goal was to create this more sustainable lifestyle and physical well-being for myself in totality for the rest of my life. To ensure that I can continue to be active and in top shape health-wise for the rest of my life.
I didn’t have any specific performance target in mind coming into the program as I had never stepped into a gym in my entire life. So, I had no set objectives I wanted to attain in the gym. My goals were just physical health and well-being. But since starting the program, we worked together to establish some good performance targets.
In particular, doing pull-ups and shoulder presses. My shoulder was collapsing with very little weight initially, and I could only do about three pull-ups. Now I’m multiples higher on the weights and can do close to 10 pull-ups without a problem. Working together to create meaningful targets has been a good part of the process.
How do you feel about your achievements?
So, before I started, I saw pictures of other clients and saw how long they took, 12 to 20 weeks. And I was like, “Yeah, well, I don’t know if I’ll be able to achieve the same performance,” but in the end, I have. So that’s been really rewarding and surprising.
In everyday terms, I notice a difference in how I feel and move. I have a lot more energy than before, and I have a much better posture working at a desk most of the day in front of the computer. And I think that it just affects my mindset as well.
Do you believe your trainer helped you achieve what you wanted?
Yes, absolutely! One of the best things about the program is it takes all the guesswork out of it. So even if I tried to replicate this outside of Ultimate Performance, I don’t think I would’ve been able to do it, and even if I had managed it, it would’ve taken me forever to get there.
I would say you get out what you put into it. I heard that a lot, and it’s so true. So, if you really stick to it, you can get fast results. I had some wavering moments, but overall, I trusted the process. And even considering the breaks, the holidays and everything in between, I’m really impressed by the result.
For me, I find the nutrition part was the hardest adjustment to make. My trainer made the gym part of it easy, and I’ve enjoyed coming to the gym. So that’s been a joy and the easiest part of it, working out. But the nutrition was difficult for me.
But again, the tips and information from my trainer to help me get the most out of it and stay on track, were equally important.
Finally Daniel, would you say it’s an investment worth making in yourself?
Yeah, 100%. It’s an investment that I would make a hundred times over again. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family. I have recommended it.
