Active means “full range” in my book, i.e. once you lose tension you’ve gone “beyond” full ROM.
Active primarily, partials have their place though, especially for movements like deadlift variations.
However, I loathe choppy, shitty, ego-driven partial range training that many people do. I equally loathe the geriatric training of some (not all!) of the RTS brigade. They’ve interpreted Tom Purvis’ teachings incorrectly.
