1. It depends on individual biomechanics. Some may bench press and feel a sore chest, others just front delta. That’s an indication that the exercise (specifically, the way you currently perform it) isn’t for you.
  2. Whilst the above answer means “it depends”, some exercises are clearly not as good as others. Dumbbell flyes lose to cable flyes, for example, so long as you don’t fall into the trap of lifting pathetic weight with the cables as way too many trainees do.
