48-year-old Bobby had wanted abs ever since he was a teenager.
But for all his adult life, the lean look he was chasing seemed a million miles away. His bloated stomach was a result of a poor diet and low activity levels.
Bobby felt that at 48 he was working against the clock – but he was still intent on educating himself on how to get in shape.

After starting his own program, it took Bobby just 11 weeks to lose 14kg and make the transformation of a lifetime he “didn’t think was possible.”
Bobby feels stronger than ever before and has even inspired his young son to take up training.

Here, Bobby speaks about how his trainer kept him on track during his holiday to Dubai, how he’s now enjoying a healthier life with his son, and why a U.P. training plan is for anyone.
What motivated you to begin training with Ultimate Performance?
One reason was because my wife was undergoing a transformation at U.P and it was an incentive to do something with her. She was coming home and sharing her experience, which really motivated me. It got me thinking – this is something that I should do.
Firstly, because it would be nice to go through the journey together, but also because I’ve always wanted an education on how to get in shape. I wanted to learn more about nutrition – which I definitely have. The learning process has been tremendous.
How important was the accountability of your trainer during your transformation?
There was a stage where we planned a trip to Dubai for my wife’s 50th birthday. The support of my trainer and the guidance he gave me throughout the holiday was really helpful.
He was very understanding and appreciated there would possibly be some alcohol involved and explained how was best to handle that. We trained at U.P. Dubai, which was a great experience. The trainers were all great; it was like a home away from home.
How much of an impact has your transformation had on your life?

My family are very proud and I’ve actually inspired my son to train even more. I’m enjoying training with him which is another bonus. With the help of my trainer, I can pass on my experience and advice.
What would you say you those who are considering starting a training program at U.P.?
When I looked at all the U.P. weight loss stories online and saw the transformations on the wall in the gym, I always thought that couldn’t ever happen to me. I now know that I’ve achieved great results and it is possible. I would say to anybody it can happen to you – because it’s happened to me.
